Duties
|
No prior experience required! Training provided.* Peer Tutors provide assistance at all levels and for all courses to Dakota County Technical College students. Tutors help students understand their assignments, explain key concepts of course materials, offer feedback and encouragement, help improve academic performance, and share appropriate resources. **This position will work extensively with a specified instructor and will require the candidate to work in the classroom setting. Tutors are also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the Center, greeting students, as well as helping the staff with other projects related to marketing, data management, and ongoing Center development. Tutors are expected to participate in ongoing training sessions to develop their skills as a tutor.

• Responsible, dependable, honest, and mature Preferred Qualifications
• 3.0 Grade Point Average
• Eligible for Federal Work Study*
• Previous tutoring experience
* Please note: To be eligible for Work Study, which is preferred but not required for this position, a student must: 1. Have received a Financial Aid Award Letter 2. Be registered for a minimum of 6 credits 3. Meet the position GPA requirements.
